About Zakaria

In 2021, I started First Rodeo on the conviction that there was something missing in the landscape of leadership development for independent schools.

The world was getting more complex. The demands of leadership roles more stressful. The length of tenures shorter. Burnout higher.

I wanted to provide others what I knew I needed, but never had, in my own experience:

A confidential space to process the challenges of my role. A place to strengthen my executive presence. A release valve to help me manage stress and burnout. A dedicated time to develop my strategic leadership. Accountability for the growth that I knew I needed. A voice to tell me what no one else around me was willing to.

Through my work as an executive coach, I have the opportunity to serve leaders from all around the country in this exact way. I believe that coaching is central to sustainable leadership - growing leaders, enabling them to experience continuous growth and success, and supporting them to stay in the field for the long haul.

Today, the conviction burns brighter than ever, and I’m grateful to be a trusted part of my clients’ leadership journeys - coaching heads, senior leaders and middle leaders through the most significant transitions of their careers.
